Date of Birth September 16, 1969 Place of Birth New York, New York, USA Birth name Marco Antonio Muņiz. Marc Anthony grew up in a home where Latin music was predominant, since his father was a musician. When he was little, he knew that he would one day become a singer. Years later he met the producer David Harris who was the one that discovered him. Marc started composing songs and doing back up vocals for Menudo. Then he met Tito Puente, who in 1991 asked him to perform in a concert at Madison Square Garden. It wasn't until 1993 that Marc started singing salsa with his first album "Otra nota". It made him into one of the top salsa singers. It was then followed by two other albums "Todo a su tiempo" and "Contra la corriente" which went to number one on the charts. In 1998 he won a Grammy for Best Performer in Latin Tropical Music. He also appeared in a few movies and plays.
