The WTC Story
BEFORE AND AFTER THE ATTACK

The World Financial Center: More than eight million square feet of office, retail and recreational space created on landfill produced by the construction of the World Trade Center. The complex includes Four 33- to 50-story office towers, Two 9 story buildings, a four acre plaza and a glass enclosd Winter Garden. It was completed in 1981.
The World Trade Center: Seven buildings, including the New York Marriott World Trade Center and the two landmark towers, make up this massive complex set on a semicircle around a five-care plaza. Work was completed in 1977.
Yeah, It is still standing. In the hearts of millions of New Yorkers..
Some of the photos of the WTC taken during the past one year (2000-01)

It was love at first sight.. What is left now is a gaping hole in the Manhattan skyline
|
View from ground...
The dot you see in the top middle of the building is Roko Camaj, one of the window washers, suspended from a harness. He too is missing.

|
View from the top of the Tower (second Tower that fell).. The first tower that was hit is on the left side of the photo and the circle you see is a fountain. The same view most of the people who jumped from the windows saw for the last time in their life that fateful day.

New York City Subway Station below the World Trade Center... The station where I got down every morning for three full months while I was working in the WTC. The 1 and 9 trains are now running only till 14th street. The station is gone.
*Latest News (FEB 2002) is that the subway station, though damaged, is still there!
